Sleep Studies

According to a recent National Sleep Foundation poll, more than 70 percent of American adults say they experience frequent sleep problems. Lakewood Health System, in partnership with the nationally recognized Precision Diagnostic Services (PDS), has developed a Sleep Study Center located at our Senior Campus in Staples.

During the sleep study, a patient’s eye movement, airways, body movements, etc. will be monitored. If necessary, due to frequent sleep interrupted events, the patient will be monitored more closely throughout the duration of the study in an effort to help achieve optimal periods of restful sleep for the patient.

Sleep studies are typically covered by Medicare and most other insurance companies although pre-authorization is usually required. Persons desiring to partake in a sleep study will need a referral from a specialist or a Lakewood Health System physician.
